One of Kappa’s many experiences is the opportunity to live in the beautiful Kappa Kappa Gamma house with 80 fellow sorority members. Members can live with one to three roommates and personalize their rooms, which include beds, desks, drawers, and closet space. Each floor also has newly renovated bathrooms with marble sinks, tiled floors, and plenty of room to blow-dry hair, apply makeup, and brush teeth before a night out.Our chef prepares breakfast, lunch, and dinner downstairs, where members can spend time in the dining room, living room, or recently renovated TV lounge, which features a new flat-screen TV and a large, comfortable couch. The house also has a workout room with treadmills, ellipticals, and free weights. Although bedrooms can become lively and social, three study rooms provide quiet places to work.Behind the house are 35 parking spaces, along with guest parking and bike racks for the colorful beach cruisers members ride to and from school. The roof is another place to relax, spend time with friends, or tan in the LA sun. With a commercial kitchen and full kitchen staff, the house provides a variety of healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner options Monday through Friday, including formal Monday Night Dinner and Friday “Kappa Brunch.” Our culinary program is led by internationally trained executive chef Sven Gadzimski. His experience includes a five-year training program in culinary arts and hospitality management in Germany, followed by work in Michelin-starred hotels and restaurants in Germany and Florida. After moving to Los Angeles, he expanded his experience in catering, high-end cuisine, and event management before joining Kappa. In addition to serving as executive chef, Sven is our culinary and nutritional consultant. He works with the Student Food Committee to create special menus for members with dietary restrictions and needs. His meal plans include gluten-free and dairy-free choices, organic ingredients, and healthy snacks. Sven and his team also welcome ideas, suggestions, and food-related concerns from members. The meal plan features made-to-order omelets on Fridays, homemade desserts and pastries, “Kappa Burger Day,” international theme nights, a salad bar, fresh fruits and berries, and a coffee and juice station. Seasonal treats may include pink pancakes for Valentine’s Day or zombie finger cookies at the Halloween buffet.
