Mental Health and Well-Being

As Kappas, we’re always looking for opportunities to give back and improve the world around us.

This includes supporting one another when it comes to mental health and well-being within our own chapter — and beyond. Kappa is proud and honored to partner with and support the following established organizations that are working to effectively address these topics and needs with compassion, authenticity, and respect.

Delta Tau Philanthropy

Philanthropy is one of the most important aspects of being a USC Kappa. We are always asking ourselves the question, “How can we help others?” Throughout the year, we hold philanthropic and community service events that include fundraising for Reading is Fundamental, supporting our local Los Angeles community, and partnering with different chapters to raise awareness for organizations across the country. Our main philanthropy event is Kappa Klassic, a pickleball tournament we host to raise money for the JED Foundation. Klassic is a great time for our girls to come together and cheer on the fraternities as they compete in the tournament. This past year, we raised more than $15,000 for JED, which works on college campuses across the country to promote mental health and provide resources for students in need. Every Halloween, we also hold our annual Trick-or-Read fundraiser for Reading is Fundamental, a charity supported by Kappa chapters across the nation. Our girls pass out donated books and candy to local trick-or-treaters on the row, with every member of our house contributing children’s books to support the event. Through Trick-or-Read, our chapter promotes children’s literacy with a fun twist on the tradition of trick-or-treating.
